Trying to change the portfolio hover colour cast

Hi there,

I feel like I have tried so much but I haven't been able to sort the problem. There is a colour cast over the first page portfolio hover section. I have tried adding code and I have gone through all the colour theme  image overlays and changing them to white and transparent but nothing has worked and is still leaving a grey overlay.

Yes I am. There appears to be a grey cast over the image itself. as normally the image is a lot brighter.
