I found code for forcing the thumbnails that are in the slideshow to work in the carousel, but only in the product page. I tried hacking that code to force the thumbnails from the gallery to show when I use the carousel, but it doesn't work. Anyone have any ideas. Basically I want the flexiblity of the carousel (with vertical/horizontal images of different sizes, with the ease of being able to navigate like you can in the slideshow.

I'm guessing here but it doesn't surprise me that on a product page one could force thumbnails to appear in some cases as the product page already has that behavior naturally with some particular settings. So perhaps that force is taking advantage of some hidden structure in the HTML.

Getting those thumbnails to show up for example on a summary is not going to happen, without a fair bit of hacking because SS didn't design summaries to have any kind of thumbnail functionality like a product page.
