Section background effect changes image colour on Chrome

Hi

I'm setting up my site where a text sections have an image as a background to match the section images displayed between them creating a seamless look. This works great on Safari/Firefox but for some reason having a WebGL effect applied like Pan darkens the image in Chrome. It doesn't seem to be consistent either, with some images only having the issue with Zoom and others also having it with Pan etc. Please check out the attached images and note the colour difference between the top image and the section that has "Dharma" in it once an effect is applied. Is there any fix for this?
