How can I adjust/set the height of a slideshow without making all the images the same aspect ratio? Does anyone have css for this?

I want to be able to control the height of a gallery slideshow (or all gallery slideshows) without having to have all images the same aspect ratio. It seems to me that there should be a slider function in settings, but failing that, does anyone have css to control the slideshow height?
