The featured image of the projects in my portfolio disappears (version 7.1)

Hello everyone, I'm seeing an issue since using the Portfolio feature in a Squarespace 7.1 site.
The image on one of my projects disappears very regularly, almost every day. Not always for both projects, sometimes it's one, sometimes it's the other.
I upload the images again each time, I also change them to be sure it is not due to the file, but the problem still persists.
Have you noticed the same problem at home? Is Squarespace fixing it?

Yes... I just moved my 6 year old site on 7.0 with everything on it... to 7.1 and so disappointed because the photos that are suppose to be the FEATURE of my portfolio keep disappearing. I have reloaded them continually over the past three weeks, probably twice daily.  Now I have launched, already sold a client on this approach and  two hours later... one is missing on my site, the photo in the portfolio. I have reloaded the image and it shows there, but it is not there when you view it. Below is the latest... the last choice is 'Studio' and now it is gone. Usually when it is gone, it is gone on the back side too. But I have the photo reloaded and it is showing there but it is not showing it functioning.   ANY hope of this being repaired anytime soon now that I moved my site to the "WONDERFUL 7.1" and totally woeful that I did. I cannot recommend this to clients. 

Also experiencing this issue with the thumbnail/feature image disappearing after every time I update a portfolio page, and am very disappointed this has not been fixed or addressed by Squarespace. :(

Hi, just chiming in that I am also experiencing this issue. Has anyone found a permanent fix? The latest disappearance has happened only two hours after the last upload. Since this is my homepage it is a difficult situation to send my portfolio out if cover images may disappear at random.

Please, can we get a response from the team on this issue?

Same here. Portfolio images disappear more than any other image on the website. Please fix this. I don't want to check the entirety of my website every single day to make sure that half of the content hasn't gone walkabout.

Also experiencing this. Seems to happen any time I make an edit to the portfolio entry...

Does anyone have a fix here yet? It just happened to a new site I built - been uploading the picture again and again and it just disappears after a day. 

Same issue here! Everytime I edit a project and hit the "Done" button, the thumbnail picture goes away 🤷‍♀️

Same issue and this is annoying! I've reached out to squarespace a few months ago, and I don't think they're still not prioritizing this issue. Please fix it for us!

I am having the same issue. I have just rebuilt my website using a 7.1 template. One, two, or all three of the index images on my homepage randomly vanish, almost daily. The first complaint about this issue was on October 30th; Squarespace has been aware of this issue for well over two months and not fixed it? This is unacceptable.

UPDATE:   I have been successfully using portfolios on clients sites the past months and have not had ANY issues thus far... wanted to update this remark. They must have made some adjustment.         

Original: This has been reported over the past MANY months. I built my site last fall and it was happening then.  You can see I posted in NOV 2020.  I am preparing to remove the portfolio from my site because of its inability to actually work. I have one client on it and they are NOT happy with it.  Any ideas are still welcome. 

This just happened to me in my not launched 7.1 site. I've been building it out over the last couple weeks.  How has squarespace not addressed the issue yet? I'm nearly ready to launch, and switch my domain over, but am a little worried now.

I have been successfully using them in  client sites with out a problem in the past few months. I am believing they adjusted things and resolved the issue.

I had same problem and it was legacy custom CSS that was culprit—if you're stumped, look there first!
