Buy One Get One (BOGO) Discounts

Recommended Posts

You can create discounts like '20% off orders over $100' but there isn't a specific 'Buy One Get One..'. discount available.

This guide will walk you through the options for creating discounts.

Will that functionality be possible in the near-term as a feature improvement?

Squarespace don't share road-maps or announce upcoming features. However, you (and anyone reading this) can add their voice to requests for this feature by raising a ticket through Customer Care. They'll document your feedback and share it with the appropriate team.

You can create discounts like '20% off orders over $100'

I've been using that workaround for several years, and it's worked, though it's a bit fussy to maintain, as you have to adjust the $ amount whenever a price changes (e.g., when a sale begins or ends).  It's been manageable partly because we only sell 4 products (online courses).

But now we want to add another product category that we want to exclude from BOGO combinations with any of those original 4 products.  I haven't figured out how to do that with the tools provided.

Specifically, we've been offering live workshops for several years, and selling tickets through other agents (Picatic and Eventbrite).  The idea of integrating those sales with the others under one website here at Squarespace is appealing for a number of reasons, but the inability to exclude ticket purchases from the BOGO codes is preventing that.

Am I missing something?  Is there any way to exclude a product or a category from a price-threshold discount?  Or limit the scope of such a discount to a specific product or category?

A separate BOGO discount type could certainly make this easier.

Help! I have just upgraded to the advanced ecommerce plan and need to set-up a buy one, get the second product half price discount for an upcoming offer...but no matter what I've tried, I can't seem to find a way to do this (or even a work around). I really don't want to have to switch to Shopify, but the lack of ecommerce options on Squarespace is driving me crazy!

Has anyone had any luck with this or can suggest a possible work around that I haven't thought of?

Thanks in advance!

I thought I had an idea that might work but the current discounting feature doesn't seem to give us the ability to offer a buy one, get the second one at half off promotion.

Unless...if your products are all the same price, you could create an automatic amount off Orders Over discount. For example, if all your products are  priced $100, you could set an automatic discount of $50 off when they put $200 in their cart (essentially 2 products). But that only will work on a simple, one price store.

How about making it a variant? Like add a variant - get a second product 50% off from the drop-down (if it's a specific product) and then add a form for customers to put in their second product.

In any case, the discounting feature needs to be improved.

I was wondering if there is a way to set up an automatic discount when someone spends over a certain amount, they get a free gift?

See the comments above about the types of discount you can apply. You cannot add a specific product as a gift.
