Is there a way to add a drop shadow to all images (including gallery images), but exclude captions?

I would like to add the same drop shadow to all my images, including those in a gallery.

I am currently using:

.image-block {
filter: drop-shadow(5px 5px 8px #000000);
}

But that only works on non-gallery images and also gives the caption a drop shadow which I don't want.
