7.1: Blog Post & Basic Author Counts?

Is there any way to find out *how many* blog posts you have in any given blog and also how many basic authors you have? My site publishes a lot of stories written by many different basic authors, and we'd like to keep track of the numbers.

For example, Squarespace will tell you how many posts are in the Recycle Bin, but I don't see that data for anything else.

Need an answer too.
