mjleyrer
Hi All, I have a client who owns a liquor store and already does beer/liquor delivery. I've thought the idea of moving it on to SS pretty thoroughly and I can't really see a reason that it wouldn't work. I would just create each liquor product in their store as a stand alone item, they would order, email confirming the order would hit a dedicated email address, that would be that. He assured me he has all the legal stuff figured out already as they are already doing this, they are just moving it online. I guess I'm wondering if anyone can poke a hole in this model or my idea doing it with SS? Thoughts? Thanks in advance. Link to comment
LKW
How many products and variants? I've been a SS user for five years, running a website for a very small non-profit. Until now the only products we've offered have been service products, about a dozen of them at any given time. This fall we're moving one of our fundraiser sales online and I've had to add about 150 physical products. Although all our products have nearly identical attributes, the setup has been incredibly time consuming, far more onerous than I expected. We're on 7.0, and even with CSV import/export, there are aspects of product creation and updating that have to be done manually, not to mention SS limitations and bugs that have to be worked around. I just can't imagine trying to set up SS products for an inventory as large as and as variegated as a liquor store would need. Link to comment
