multi-origin shipping

Hi all!

Does anyone know of any work arounds or shipping integrations what work well with Squarespace that offer multi-origin shipping? Or a way to assign a specific shipping option to specific products?

A client I built a website for is an art gallery that ships various artworks and products from different locations around the world. For example: The gallery is located in NYC, however many of it's collaborators and artists are based in Europe - sometimes the products that we have available in e-commerce need to ship from an artist's studio that is not in the same zip code or even country as the gallery.

Seems like this should be an obvious option to include with any e-commerce platform? I've been told a work around is to just include shipping in the price of the product however that appears rather unprofessional from a customer's point of view.

Any insight of solutions would be much appreciated!

Thank you!

Squarespace doesn't offer multi-origin shipping. It isn't possible to add this because it simply wasn't built to track inventory across multiple locations.

If you need this feature, you'll need to use another eCommerce platform such as Shopify. If you've already built a beautiful website on Squarespace and you need advanced features like this, you could add Shopify Buy Buttons to your Squarespace site. It's not ideal but may be worth a look.

Work: I founded and run SF.DIGITAL, building Squarespace Extensions to supercharge your commerce website.

Thanks Paul! Yeah I figured this would be the best work around.

Do you know if theres a possibility to have shipping specific to each product? For example, if each product had it's own flat rate option?

Thanks!

On Squarespace, you can add a shipping charge for each item, but these cannot vary for specific products.
