Bulk Importing with a csv- No Product ID Column?

I am working with a new e-commerce site that already has their inventory on a spreadsheet. I transferred over their inventory to the squarespace csv template, but it keeps saying there is no Product ID column when I try to import. I can not figure out how to fix this since there is in fact a Product ID column and it is empty. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this?
