Best way to paste from WORD or PDF into text box

Hi,

I have a long document authored in WORD on MacOS and need to make this document available on the website also.

I've tried copy from each of the WORD, the PDF and the .txt, and paste including match style and paste destination or source. I've tried saving the document as a .txt file and pasting from that.

I've tried using the squarespace icon for remove all formatting from the text.

What happens is that the text looks fine in the Paste Text popup dialogue, or in the textbox directly after pasting. Once I hit save, many of the lines wind up overlapping each other. 

Is there a way to copy the text so that after pasting into squarespace, the lines all have the proper end of line characters so that they do not overlap each other on the saved webpage?
