Sarah-W
Hi, There is an ugly black rectangle on the lockscreen which we don't appear to have any chance of removing or changing colour in Design/Lockscreen options. I have changed all colours to white or mid grey, tried password styles in both rectangle and underline. Nothing gets rid of it. It shows up on the real page in browsers, but not on Edit page while in Squarespace. Any ideas please? Thanks Link to comment

On forms, they have added a contrasting black or white outline to the area of the page that has focus. On a Lock Screen, this is usually the password box. Removing focus outlines can create issues for people navigating the web with a keyboard, and isn't recommended. In some territories, there are legal stipulations for accessibility so removing accessibility features may cause legal issues for the website owner. If you do not like the default style that Squarespace applied (a thick white or black box) then there are a couple of accessible-friendly options available: Style the focus outline to make it slightly less obtrusive and match your design. Style the password element itself to make it stand out so that you can remove the focus outline from this control. If you choose this approach, it's wise to use several means to determine the focus, not just colour, to help visitors with color blindness. If you've tried this approach, you can remove the focus outline by adding something like this to Settings > Advanced > Code Injection > Lock Page: <style> .sqs-slide-wrapper[data-slide-type="lock-screen"] .password-input.focus-visible { outline:none!important; } </style> If a post helps you, please click a "Like" option below ↘️ Me: I'm Paul, a SQSP user for >18 yrs & Circle Leader since 2017.
