Image Orientation

I am a newb, and am making decent progress.  Today in a chat with customer service I was told of two things I would like do that they say is not supported.

• Change orientation of images
  • I have four categories of products on my site, two of them have portrait images and the other two categories have landscape images
  • Can this be changed/modified?  Currently, a number of the images I'm testing with are getting clipped.
• Secondly, I understand the mobile view only supports a single row of products
  • Can this be expanded to two columns of products?
