Guest
Site URL: https://mshawblog.wordpress.com/ Hello, Squarespace users, I am looking for inspiration in choosing a Squarespace template that reflects my unique blend of interests. Here's what I mean: 1. Educator for 35 years 2. Composer of media music 3. YouTube channel for music creation videos 4. Use SoundCloud to preview works 5. Sell educational music technology materials to teachers for iPad music activities I would like to have a template that has a large and expressive (but aesthetically pleasing) graphic with my logo that sums up me and scrolls to other features mentioned above. I want it to be light and airy, almost like an architectural style, clean and full of creativity and AESTHETICS. It would have a 'about me' page, a blog, links to SoundCloud, Facebook, YouTube, and any future social media sites. I would also like to sell my various educational materials, music tracks and music scores. My music is film score style on the expressive side so this would be reflected in the website. My branding is: Expressivo... Celebrate the Arts in You! If you see my YouTube channel, you will understand what I'm about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxU9gUzuj20&t=343s My current logo may have to be re-designed to reflect a more sophisticated website with Squarespace. Thank you to anyone for help in guiding me to a possible solution. All the best, Marshall Link to comment
GavinW
Hey Marshall Not sure if you came to a decision. Whenever I work with people, I usually ask, "Are there any websites you've come across that resonated with you?". E.g. colour scheme, the spacing, the "feel" of navigating around the website, etc. That's usually a great starting point, and thinking about, "What specifically do I like about these different websites". If there is no starting point, it's good to look at the "top players" in your industry, others who are leading the way, because their websites are likely "working" for them. In regards to your description, I like the Paloma theme, https://paloma-demo.squarespace.com/?nochrome=true, not necessarily the colours, but that it's not trying to put too much in-front of you from the start. But ultimately, with 7.1. websites, you can build almost anything. The most important thing will be, "What are you doing trying to achieve with the website". Are you trying to get them to sign up to a mailing list. Or like you said, is the one and only goal to have them buy there and then, etc. Link to comment
