Douwe 7 Share Posted August 23, 2020 Why oh why is there no way to delete uploaded images and why is there no way to organise them into folders? It seems like such a basic necessity for managing a website. Does anyone know if there is a (simple) file manger in the works? This is by far my biggest request for Squarespace as a user. GraceBaldwin 3 Share Posted September 29, 2020 Agree. This is quickly becoming my biggest frustration with Squarespace. I don't know how to access my files. Clayton, Hadley and Jules68 3 Link to post
Clayton 1 Share Posted October 2, 2020 This is certainly increasingly an issue. I want to create a static link (i.e., www.domain.com/current), and to replace the files served from that page so that when sharing links, the actual URL never changes. Hadley 1 Link to post
RoryC 2 Share Posted October 5, 2020 +1 I joined the forum just to add my support of this! It's bizarre that Squarespace doesn't allow for this. No fixing typos, etc. So strange. Hadley and Jules68 2 Link to post
derricksrandomviews 460 Share Posted October 6, 2020 (edited) In my opinion a file manager will come with limited "library" storage like IONOS has. At some point you can't add a file without taking one out. I moved from there to here and SS is day to night better. Right now there is a 20mb single file limit and that is it. There is an old saying, get what you want and lose what you have. Edited October 6, 2020 by derricksrandomviews Hadley 1 Link to post
CharlieKocourek 1 Share Posted October 13, 2020 Unbelievable, really? There's no way to manage uploaded images? Jules68 1 Link to post
MMEbyKiandraTrickett 19 Share Posted November 12, 2020 Joining purely for support and to stay updated. Infuriating foldering and deleting doesn't exist. Jules68 and Hadley 2 Link to post
Classicalbass 2 Share Posted November 13, 2020 I agree. I would so appreciate if this functionality could be added! When I first began searching for a file manager at SS I was confounded when I learned it did not exist. Jules68 and Hadley 2 Link to post
cfriess128 2 Share Posted November 20, 2020 I would simply like to be able to sort my uploaded files into some sort of sequence. I've just taken over managing our website and I'm really struggling with what/when for the listed files. Jules68 and Hadley 2 Link to post
OldSchoolBMXTV 0 Share Posted December 6, 2020 (edited) So there is no true File Manager or FTP, but you can use some free Web Services to your advantage... This best to use is AWS (Amazon Web Services) This option works great for simple static files / page hosting. - Sign up for an AWS Account - During the signup, don't worry about the billing part, so FYI. - Once Completed, follow this tutorial on how to use S3 Storage for Static Sites / Pages / Files. _ Tutorial: - As long as it's a Static Page, it works PERFECTLY! - The S3 Storage serves as a Public Webserver (Note: You need to make sure the Permissions are set to Public on any S3 Folder you create and intend to use). derricksrandomviews 460 Share Posted December 6, 2020 (edited) You can create a media library in the unlinked section of your site. https://www.kreanilledesign.com/media-library-squarespace/ Edited December 8, 2020 by derricksrandomviews Link to post
