Customized Embedded Widgets

I'm building a Squarespace site for my climbing gym. I've attempted to embed a widget through the code block and through the embed block. When typing the website URL in directly to a browser, or visiting the page from an external link, the widget appears. The widget also appears when you refresh the page. But, the widget does not appear if you click on the homepage button or any "button" that takes you to that page within the site itself. Is there a specific reason it would work except within Squarespace?
