Blog Page posts do not match Blog Post format

Hello,

Could someone please help me understand why my Blog Page posts do not match the Blog Post format.  I would like the format of my Blog Posts to match when they are displayed in the Blog Page.

For example, I have the date below the title in the Blog Posts, but in the Blog Page I can only get the date to be on top of the title (or below the excerpt).

In addition, I have placed a Post Blog Item Code Injection on the advance blog settings:

<p><a href="{permalink}">∞ Permalink</a></p>

It works but only on the Blog Posts themselves, but it does not show up in the posts when they are displayed in the Blog Page.

Thank you so much for your help with this!

If you want it below the title just  create a new text box above the post body, type the date in, any format you want,  and hide the metadata. The metadata style choices  are above, below, or none, choose none.  No code required at all. As far as the permalink is concerned unlike wordpress, Squarespace assigns one automatically to each post:

Squarespace automatically assigns a permalink for each new page, post, or collection item based on its title. For example, if you add a page titled "Services," its automatic permalink/URL slug is http://www.yourdomain.com/services.

You will see the permalink/slug in page/post settings, that panel you get when you click on the gear icon up in the right corner. You can change it to something else if you wish. My template adds the published date to the permalink and I don't want that so I just edit the slug to be something simpler.

Thank you so much for your reply!

It means that I will have to manually do this for every single post, correct?

Do you happen to know why the posts in the Blog Page do not match their Blog Post format? Is this a 7.1 glitch?

I truly appreciate your help!

The editing format layout is different than the final product so to speak. I have noticed that myself, questions come up about why is the title above an image or below when it is not the same way when editing. I guess the answer is no I don't know why, I only know how to deal with it after five years here on Squarespace. Yes you would have to add the date manually each time. I suspect that some of our friends here have a bit of custom css to place the date where you want it , but a business/commerce plan would be needed to use code. I am big on working around that for simple things.
