Try turning on Captions.

@creedon Thank you for the reply. Turning on captions did help in terms of showing the video. However, does this script only work for grid galleries? I'd like to use "slideshow: full." The expected behavior is for the video to appear full bleed, in parallel to the images. The videos are currently displayed under the images, like a caption, since I turned on "captions."

I didn't author the code so I can't speak for @tuanphan. But from the post where @tuanphan provides the code it appears to me that it was geared towards a grid display.

Can confirm, the Lightbox Studio plugin by @Beyondspace  is amazing and really solved a lot of issues I had with Squarespaces galleries and lightboxes, and added new features too. 

Scroll zooming and pinch-to-zoom with light boxes as well as videos within galleries has been an absolute game changer for me as a digital artist / graphic design freelancer, 100% worth the money. 

They're also super helpful and patient with getting it all set up! I worked with them really closely and they actually made a case study on their site about it: https://beyondspace-showcase.squarespace.com/case-studies

But yeah, as someone who works with video and was frustrated with Gif only support natively, this is an absolute must have for any form of visual based Squarespace site. It's super affordable, easy to implement,  and works like a dream

Just want to clarify here, the code from @Beyondspace can allow me to have a gallery of images+videos that would display in a lightbox? does anyone have an example of how they use this?

Looking into this to get videos to play in a gallery along with photo without being sent to vimeo.
