Summary Block - content featured from more than one blog

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have several blogs which are categorised on my page, broken down as themes. Is there any way I can go add blog posts to my 'Latest Posts' summary block from more than one blog?

For example: I have Themes such as Character Development, Story + Synopsis, Production Status etc, and would love to have the option to have the latest posts from all of these blogs present on my Latest Posts summary block that appears on my home page?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sam

@Samkirby without the site link it's difficult to tell but could you create a "latest posts" section and then have multiple summary blocks side-side, each representing your themes/categories. If they're all set to pull from a particular category then they should always have the latest post available.

Does that make sense

What options do you choose to create (1) the landing page for multiple blogs, (2) summary block for each blog and (3) blog with comments enabled?

number 3, that is universal as far as configuration is set up. If comments are turned on, they are on for all blog pages.

number 2. That is up to you, and how you filter, what posts are in the summary (and they can be a mix of two blogs actually) and how you layout the summary, that too can be a mixture on the same page.

number 1. I choose to make a header for one blog summary page with a featured story at the top which I change on semi regular basis. The other (photography lessons) I have a drop down menu on the nav bar, and the page with the summary block has an image and quote in the header, I could make a page with a big image and link it to the summary page, if I wanted to, but I have a limited number of pages with my older billing plan. I have one blog page, but I filter what shows up on each summary page, some things I don't want duplicated so in effect my two summary pages acts like two blogs.
