Panel-styled landing page (adjacent images)

I drafted a landing page with a reasonably simple layout (provided link). Adjacent images that act as buttons. However, when I try to build it in SquareSpace the images have tons of space between them. Is there any way to reduce the buffer space between adjacent images?

If you can provide the site url and access password (if there is), then I may take a look, as each page has specific template make it unique.

The solution maybe inject custom css code into the site
