Make header change to black on scroll for homepage only

Hi all.

I have been working the last few hours trying to get my header only transparent on the homepage and then turn to black as you scroll down. Ive been reading other forum posts first but none of them seemed to work?

Is there anyway what I am trying to accomplish is possible?
