Preserve A Clients SEO Gains

Recommended Posts

Site URL: https://servantleadership.ca

Hello all!

I'm about to start a new website project for an existing client. We have their current website built on Squarespace and the new one will be on Squarespace as well. All of the content is changing so we were going to start a brand new site in Squarespace.

We were thinking this through as they have made some great moment with their SEO and get hits from all over the world - they recently landed jobs with Canadian Tire (Massive Canadian retailer) and Vodaphone in Egypt! They are concerned that with this brand new website they will lose some of that SEO.

I should also mention we will be changing the domain from servantleadership.ca to servantleadershipacademy.com as their audience and customer base is now global.

Should we be starting from scratch or should I build their new website with their current Squarespace plan? I'm hesitant as I just hate working in the preview mode and hate leaving public pages half baked as we work through a project.

Or does any of this matter? Will we be losing our SEO gains by switching domains and having all new content anyway?

I'm open to any and all feedback! Thank you!
