hi everybody¬†ūüôā

I need help, cause I don't find a way to do it. I need to superscript a letter for a title. In Austria we use for the feminin Mastertitel the short version with an superscript "a". I don't manage to fill it in with copy paste and the usual shortcuts for Mac don't work either. Is there any way I can manage to write "Mag.a "? I use the template Polaris live (prine family 7.0). Thankful for any tipp!

@hanna38 It will depend where you want to use this, for example in the body text or a header.

In the body text, you can use a Markdown Block instead of a Text Block and then insert this:

<p>Mag.a</p>

If you need it as a H1 Header, you'd use this instead:

# Mag.a

If you need more help, please provide a working link to the page in your question. If your site isn't live yet, please set a site password and tell us what it is.

Let me know how you get on.

Hi paul2009,

Thank you so much for your help! It worked out perfect. I'm just left now with another "problem". My text (contact of the singer) has three lines:

Mag.a name
phone number and e-mail

description of job

Now when I put the whole text into the markdown there is so much space between the lines. Is there any tip how I can arrange just half of the distance between lines (as if I press "up arrow" and "enter" on my Mac).

Would be great if you can help me with that either¬†ūüėä

best hanna

AND: can I place a markdown centered in the middle of the page?
Means: the text (three lines) should be centered in the middle of the whole page.

Thanks for the site info. You can solve these by adding the following to Design > Custom CSS:

#block-yui_3_17_2_1_1590322605217_4469 p {
  text-align: center;
  margin-block-end: 0;
  margin-block-start: 0;
  line-height: 1.3em;
}

Adjust the spacing between lines of text by changing the line-height. A value of 2em will leave a blank line between each line of text.

For the benefit of others who read this post:

  • This snippet is for the Brine-family Squarespace 7.0 site quoted¬†in the author's question.
  • If used on another site, the block's ID will need to be substituted for the ID used above (shown in black). Each ID is unique.

May I ask a last question? Is there any code for a markdown or custom css in order to create a table, where you find dates on the left side and the information right next to it on the right side (e.g. if you write a resume or working history).

For example like this:

if you send me a mail I can donate you for your time and help.

best, hanna

Add Code Block > Then change text

  <table style="width:100%">
  <tr>
    <th>Year</th>
    <th>Description</th>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td>Jill</td>
    <td>Smith</td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td>Eve</td>
    <td>Jackson</td>
  </tr>
</table>

<style>
  table, th, td {
  border: 1px solid black;
  border-collapse: collapse;
}
th, td {
  padding: 15px;
  text-align: left;
}
table#t01 {
  width: 100%;
  background-color: #f1f1c1;
}
</style>

@tuanphan: thank you so much as well!!! worked perfect. I decided to remove the lines and it looks great now¬†ūüôŹūüėĄ

@paul2009: won¬īt forget about the likes anymore¬†ūüėČ. thank you!!!

All looks perfect now. Guys, you are great and a big help!!! I'm left with a single problem. I've used the superscription letter in the contact on the first side of the webpage and as well on the last side (named "Kontakt"). I placed the makedown in the body of the site, so I don't have a style-id number. I want the name, phone number and email centered in the middle of the page and with less space in between the lines. But if I fill in the body-Id of course the whole text on the site is centered, which I don't like. If you could help me for the last time.

This is the link of the webpage https://www.monikavoice.at/kontakt (pw: Homepage2)
I want the first four lines centered and with less space. It is a markdown.

Sorry for being annoying¬†ūüôą

Hi Hanna

You can discover the Block-ID by using the browser's developer tools.

I wrote two guides that may help you to do this - Finding CSS ID and Class Selectors and In Squarespace, what are the differences between #block-yui and #yui selectors? - I hope these help.

Here is a quick screen-share of me finding the ID (block-yui_3_17_2_1_1590567959265_6881) on your page:

Once you have found the correct ID, you can use the code provided earlier (see this post) with the new ID.

Let me know how you get on.
