Carolinemac
Site URL: https://ukulele-tan-r6rw.squarespace.com/config/pages Hi there. I'm feeling frustrated because I'm building a very basic website for a client who need to divide her landing page into four or five categories (color, space design, air bnb, client stories) - each of these sections needs to lead to a portfolio of projects. I am really disappointed to learn that apparently this is impossible for any of the 7.1 templates?? Is there ANY work around? My client has way too many projects to include them all in the landing page. What should I do? i dont know how to code but am willing to learn to make this possible with some guidance! Best, Caroline P.S My site is a bit of a mess as I'm trying to work out these structural problems before making it pretty. Its ROUGH. Link to comment

derricksrandomviews
tuanphan has a good question there. Seems the simplest thing is to build your own "index like" layout page with four or five click thru single image blocks, each image takes you to a portfolio page. Even using 7.0 this would still be the best bet, due to the fact you can't put an index page into an index page. Link to comment
DV2
In this instance, the recommendation to start with 4-5 image blocks that link to portfolios is probably best. I have a client though who has a large volume of work. Some are stand alone works, others are collections of 10+ pieces. Whatever I do, it needs to be easy for the non-technical client to manage. I'm just starting, but my plan is to create portfolios for each of the collections of work and store them in the Not Linked area. In the main portfolio, I'll create a representative page and link it to the collection's URL Slug manually. It's not ideal but the client will only have to manage portfolios and create a link to connect to the collections. It's the closest thing to nesting portfolios I've come up with. tuanphan 1 Link to comment
