Gratuity in Squarespace Store

Update: 

I was mistaken.  I had the site on "Business" pricing tier and not the "Basic Commerce".  Related products is available in "Basic Commerce".

Also I reached out to Thompson Web Design who posted in the the thread linked below about a solution to display gratuity options at checkout.  He was able to modify the code to work with my version of Squarespace and theme and it works nicely.

We are looking for a way to implement gratuity in our restaurant oriented Squarespace store.  I did find a related thread with a plugin suggestion and alternately a workaround to use the "related products" feature to implement gratuity using an inventory item.

In my case the 3rd party plugin isn't compatible with the version of Squarespace/them-family that I'm on.

While it would be nice to have a dedicated gratuity function in the store, the "related products" workaround seemed like it would work.

However this requires the most expensive plan in "Advanced Commerce" which as far as I can tell we would not use any of those features.  I think we are barely using all the "Basic Commerce" features.

A couple of things:

1. Is handling gratuity in the store directly on the product roadmap?  If so is there a guestimate on timeline?
2. Given a lot of restaurants and other businesses right now are trying to adapt to COVID restrictions right now is it possible to make the "related products" feature available to business and basic commerce plans in a similar way that gift cards were made available for a limited time?  If so I'm sure a support article to implement the gratuity workaround with related products would be appreciated by others.
