RBanks88
Please check out the way images are displayed at https://www.michelearazi.com/Homestead/. Click a thumbnail to see the gallery in action. Based on the source code, it looks like this is built at Smugmug. I like the way the images fill most of the window, and resize without ever cropping. My images are too small. (For example, see https://russellcbanks.com/floating-world) Can I do something like this at Squarespace? I’m currently using the Avenue template on SS 7.0. Thanks, Russell Link to comment
derricksrandomviews
Change to arrows instead of thumbnails and the image will expand to take up the space. I don't see much difference between your image sizes and the other site. Here is one of mine on Avenue with a description on the left. If I had none at all or over the top the images would be larger. I do not use automatically crop hardly ever. The majority of my images are in gallery pages and they are in an index, including this one. This is how it looks viewed on its own. Auto Slideshow is enabled. This is a layout page with a gallery block. I did that because I wanted a slide show all the time not stacked when viewed from an index like a gallery page is. https://myrandomviews.com/brookies-tea/ Link to comment
RBanks88
Thanks. It looks like the effect I want is done via a "lightbox," which Avenue doesn't offer, so I'll look into templates that can do it. Regards, Russell Link to comment
derricksrandomviews
You can't have lightbox from a slide show in Avenue. If you change the design of a gallery Block that is on a page (not a gallery page) to wall or grid, then it will allow lightbox if in gallery designif you enable it, plus you can still advance to the next image with a click. You won't be able to click on the lightbox image and get the image to over expand like smugmug, but it will be larger than in a slideshow design. I changed one of my slideshow galleries to a grid so you can see what I mean. https://myrandomviews.com/views-images#/tomandjeri/ Link to comment
