Weblink in Basic Author won't open in new page

I have added a new basic author and posted up a blog from him. In his bio I have added his youtube and website address, I have hyperlinked to them in his bio and want them to open in a new page if someone clicks on them. Despite clicking the 'open in new window' in the web address it won't save this info and the link at the bottom of the blog just opens in the existing web page. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thank you.

It opened in a new window/tab for me using chrome.
