Adding columns to my mobile website

Hi, I'm trying (and struggling) to add columns to my mobile website instead of having the standard vertical stacked blocks. To be more specific I'd like to add these columns to the category images on my homepage (ideally I'd like these as 2 rows of 3 columns), and all products on my mobile site (2 columns).

Any help would be much appreciated!

To make homepage products 2/row, add to Home > Design > Custom CSS

}
}
