Can't select Gallery for a Summary block (Nolan Template)

I am trying to display a Summary block on my homepage that is linked to a gallery. But the summary block doesn't recognize any of my galleries as a source. It will let me display a blog, event, or product but not a gallery. Any help would be appreciated!

Version 7.1 summary blocks  will not pull content from gallery pages or portfolio pages.
