Change logo colour or header image on blog post 7.1

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to update the logo colour on an individual blog post using Squarespace 7.1? Or alternatively, can the header image be updated?

I have a white logo across my site which works fine except for individual blog posts.

Normal header

Individual blog post header

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you

Hi @Cattty, can you share a link to your site? I had different results on my 7.1 site, so would love to see how we have things set up differently.

@Cattty, I found a solution that works well but it requires a business plan or higher.

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone could help me on my website (enjoysnacks.com). On our homepage we want to have the hero banner be a slider with the same text and button we have now. We understand we can add a gallery as well so that there is a slider but we were wondering what the best options would be. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @galangster!  You'll need a third party plugin for this. I have all the details and a video walkthrough here:

@galangster, at the moment adding text and button overlays on slideshows in 7.1 requires substantial custom code. Squarespace recently rolled out captions to appear below the slideshow, but that's all you can do with text and a slideshow for now without code. You can certainly write the code yourself or hire a developer, but the plugin would be considerably cheaper.

@galangster, would something like this work? This is being done with the Summary List and could be used below the main header

@RyanDejaegher Interesting! Do you know if the font can be changed (increase/decrease). Our client likes the buttons we placed on the homepage so I'm not sure if that could be done as well. Website reference: enjoysnacks.com. Thanks for the suggestion!

@Cattty I don’t have a solution that works on the personal plan. Maybe someone else does!

great solution - probably worth mentioning that it also works with the commerce modules

This worked - thanks @christyprice.  But...instead of doing this, do you know if there a way to insert a background colour - not on an individual blog post, but one that appears consistently/automatically whenever you write a new post? I know I can insert a background for the header/logo/navigation section, but it has to be done manually each time I create a blog post. Would love it to just be there each time I create a new post.  Possible?

@Del you can change your Default color theme using the Squarespace app so that new sections (and blog posts) have that color instead. You can no longer do this on desktop, but if you have the mobile app, edit any page, click the paintbrush, then choose Colors. Then Site Theme and click on a new Color Theme to make it the default.
