Align images in grid-gallery at bottom - css required

hello,

I want to show images of different sizes in a grid, all with captions. I want the captions to be aligned and justified left, and the images to be aligned with each other along the bottom edge. I attach a pic of what I want my gallery-grid to look like. Squarespace offers default image alignment only to the center, and apparently also to the top edge.

It is important to me that the space between the bottom of each image and the caption is consistent. How do I change this with custom css - what code and when/where do I do this?

Is it possible to align all the picture in a gallery grid on the top / bottom + each side ?
