sdowling
Site URL: http://www.croppergis.com Hi All, I hope this is the correct forum for this. If not, I apologize. When I Google our company name (Cropper GIS or CropperGIS), several of the pages from our main site appear in the search results. Links to the main navigation pages seem to work fine (e.g. "About Us"), but links to the "not linked" pages (e.g. "GIS Consulting") within the site return the following error: "We couldn't find the page you were looking for." I'm sure I'm missing something very simple here, but I'm pretty new to this. Any idea what is wrong? Thank you. Link to comment
DontBeShy
Did you recently switch over to Squarespace? Or did you edit the site? What I am seeing is that the URL slug for "GIS Consulting" is /gis-consulting. The page listed in google is "/services/gis-consulting." You need to add redirects. Go to Settings > Advanced > URL Mapping then add /services/gis-consulting -> /gis-consulting 301 This tells search engines that you moved a page. They will then transfer the old page's ranking to the new one. You can read about it here: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/205815308. Alternatively, if you want to remove the page from google, do a takedown request with Google Search Console. Hope this helps! Link to comment
