janela Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 Site URL: https://www.janela.ca Hi, Wondering if there is a way in squarespace 7.1 to view webstie editing activity. I'd like to track the time it took to develop my website from start to finish. LisSo and PurpleMartin 2
ThomasBeilman Posted May 24, 2020 Posted May 24, 2020 Janela, I too would find it very useful to view a listing of the changes/edits for each of my website pages. So far, however, I have not been able to find such a capability on this website hosting platform. Should you come across such a capability, would you please let me know about it? Thank you. thomas.beilman@gmail.com LisSo 1
paul2009 Posted May 24, 2020 Posted May 24, 2020 There is nothing built into the Squarespace platform that tracks edits and changes so you won't be able to track this retrospectively. However, if you use the Chrome browser, there are a number of Chrome extensions available that allow you to track the time you spend on websites, clients and tasks. suestrand 1 Me: I'm Paul, a SQSP user for >18 yrs & Circle Leader since 2017. Emmanuel_RuwaisLife Posted June 30, 2020 Posted June 30, 2020 Id like to see the change log in my web page as well, some instances i would like to track back since i have a number of collaborators and in case errors were made i would like to see the log as a learning tool and avoid the same mistake being done again. echo and LisSo 2
Solution Susana_SQSP Posted July 1, 2020 Solution Posted July 1, 2020 Hi @Emmanuel_RuwaisLife, Thanks for the suggestion. As it has been mentioned in this thread, Squarespace doesn't currently offer that feature, but I'd be happy to suggest it to our development team on your behalf. While we can't guarantee implementation of every suggestion, customer feedback is an important part of how we continue to improve our platform, so we appreciate your input. For any future feature requests, contacting Customer Support would be the best approach as per point 6 of the forum guidelines we don't usually track feature requests here. christian__scott and Dashford 2
misakimichy Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 @SusanaR So are you guys overwriting your backend every time users save changes or do you still have data but you guys don't have the feature? I want to make sure because i want to check my change log and restore some contents. LisSo and Dashford 2
Susana_SQSP Posted January 15, 2021 Posted January 15, 2021 Hi @misakimichy, At the moment there isn't a way to check your activity log and restore content based on that. I am happy to forward this request to the appropriate team on your behalf. While we can't guarantee any implementation, rest assured every submission is reviewed by the manager in charge of improving the product area related to your request. echo and Dashford 2
echo Posted June 14, 2021 Posted June 14, 2021 @Susana_SQSP can we "plus 1" to your "request to the appropriate team" for _activity log of content edits_ (Is there a list of features we can upvote), or do we need to submit a new feedback report to Customer Support, to show our interest? LisSo and Dashford 2
Susana_SQSP Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 Hi @echo, At the moment there isn't a list of features you can upvote, so if you would like to get your feedback to be logged the best approach is indeed to contact Squarespace Customer Support for that. I've gone ahead and submitted that feedback for you. 😉 Dashford and echo 1 1
LisSo Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 Hi @Susana_SQSP, I've had a look at the Customer Support page but don't see any dropdown topics that seem to fit. Could you please provide the most direct Support communication channel for users to formally make this request, e.g. an email address for the manager in charge of this department? A change log would be very useful in a number of ways, such as assessing actual time spent developing pages & the entire site (mentioned above) learning from past errors (mentioned above) assessment to help improve workflows general debugging Your assistance is much appreciated! Thanks, Lis Dashford and PurpleMartin 2
Sympathetic_Andrew Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 Howdy, Is there any follow up on this topic? Thanks! Dashford 1
MarcusSoveral Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 Hello @Susana_SQSP, I would also love to see a log of edits on squarespace. We recently had our homepage index suddenly emptied and since we have multiple editors I would love to know when it was done and who may have (hopefully accidentally) done it so that we can troubleshoot it and make sure it will not happen again. Thanks Dashford 1
Dashford Posted August 13 Posted August 13 Am I right in thinking that there is currently no way to see WHO has made WHAT changes to a website? We have multiple users - some of whom are from an agency and not part of our company. We desperately need this feature, it is essential. Please add my vote for Squarespace to add this as highest priority. Is there any form of plugin or third party tool that can be used for doing this within Squarespace (like Wordpress has with its plugins)?
