Marins
Site URL: https://www.websimpelsnel.nl/workshop-opgeven Hello people, Could you please explain what are the long term consequences of disabling ajax loading? Thanks in advance. I just disabled ajax loading to prevent the problem mentioned here: My eventbrite embed code didn't load (only after refreshing the page), just like the post below. I've found the solution in the post: this link https://sf.digital/squarespace-solutions/why-doesnt-my-code-work-until-i-refresh-the-page Link to comment
paul2009
‘Ajax loading’ on Squarespace 7.0 improves website performance. When a visitor lands on your site, the entire page is downloaded including the headers, footers and navigation. If ‘Ajax loading’ is enabled, when the visitor clicks on internal links on your site, for example to navigate to another page, view a product or move between blog posts, the content will change really quickly because the headers, footers and navigation remain in place. Only the changed content is downloaded; the header and footer were already there so there’s’ no need to download them again. This has a huge positive impact on users with slower connections, such as mobile users on 3G. If ‘Ajax loading’ is disabled, visitors won’t see these benefits. The entire page, including headers, footers and navigation, will be loaded and processed for every page that the visitor opens. That’s what I was referring to as the long term consequences of disabling it. Every visitor will experience a slower site than they otherwise would. It’s nothing more sinister than that, but it’s something to bear in mind. About me: I've been a SQSP User for 18 yrs. I was invited to join the Circle when it launched in 2016.
