Hide Blog and Event Banner Images, but keep Thumbnails and Titles - Bryant

I'm looking to hide the banner image, but keep the thumbnail or featured image available for summary blocks, etc. in the blogs and events. I've used the code below which works well for the events, as the Title of the event remains on the page to the left side. However, on the Blog posts, the title of the blog disappears along with the banner image. How do I keep the title of the blog as an H1 at the top of the page while still removing the banner image?
