JohnWood
Why is the url for linked files always static1.squarespace... instead of starting with my domain? Seems somewhat unprofessional. Not a big deal for my club’s website, but if it was for my business, I would want all files under my domain name. Edited March 1, 2020 by JohnWood Link to comment
paul2009
When you upload an image or other file to Squarespace, it is stored on servers belonging to one of their content delivery network (CDN) service providers and so it is assigned a specific static URL. The benefit of storing these files via multiple geographically distributed content delivery networks (CDNs) is that each visitor is served from the data center closest to their location.
