Multi-currency functionality - any sign of it?

Recommended Posts

Hullo, have been contemplating moving a particular site to another platform (Shopify or Bigcommerce) in order to be able to display products and facilitate checkout in local currencies. Before I take that plunge I was wondering if anyone knows if Squarespace plan to introduce that feature in the near future...

(Or has any workarounds to suggest to facilitate it).

Thanks!

Hi there! I am not sure about Squarespace's  particular plans regarding multi-currency features. But you may potentially run multiple sites serving different domains; each domain allows one currency for displaying and checking out. For example, exampleshop.com with USD for US market, exampleshop.com.au with AUD for Australia market. In this way, it provides you the best flexibility to control differences on products, prices, currency, shipping costs etc.

Coming this path, you can easily duplicate website content on Squarespace. Please see detailed steps: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039396131-Duplicating-a-site Then, set each site with a different default currency,

Among multi-sites setting, to increase customer conversion rate, you can auto direct your visitors to correct URLs(showing them local currencies) based on their locations. Geo Redirect tool may help achieve this. It can detect your website visitors' geolocations by IP and auto direct them based on locations. You can easily set up redirecting rules within a few steps. No code is necessary. Squarespace is perfectly supported.

Hope it helps!
