aspect ratio across different product pages

I have square product images on one product page (cd covers)  but would like 2:3 standard (vertical) on a different product page (sheet music). 

Is that possible?

When you use the same type of layout across different product pages, the design options are linked, which is extremely frustrating considering you have the ability to style any page section independently. There's no reason for these to be linked. I used custom code injection and wrote some JS to append a class to the gallery block, and then used CSS to modify the size of the products on the second product page. 

For reference, I wanted to use Grid Overlay on both pages, but to have different aspect ratios on each.

Did you guys find any results?  I just posted about this also.
