making text overlay always visible on 7.1 portfolio index images

I'd like to use css to change the show text before or after hover on portfolio index images in 7.1 so that text always shows and isn't affected by the hover. Do you have suggestions of how to do this? Thank you, Henry.

Squarespace, can we please get this added into the mix? My clients don't want their text disappearing upon hovering.
