brandi_sqspace Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 Site URL: https://www.brandistanley.com Is there a way to add additional fields to a promotional pop-up? I'd love to just collect First Name & Last Name data (separately) for my popup, which currently only collects email addresses. karaaubin 1

emilyjensen Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 I'm also after this information! Seems crazy that this isn't an option!
featherandfrond Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 I would LOVE it if there was an option to at least have the First Name field in the promotional pop-up box. But alas, it doesn't look like squarespace offers that option. Hmm I wonder if there's place to submit this feedback.

Which squarespace template are you using?
kategibbs Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 Ive been using Privy because they allow first and last name - and it works on mobile well as well. kategibbs.com

Featherandfrond, you can enter her URL at this pretty cool site and it will tell you. I believe her beautiful and awesome site is from the Brine family and looks (from what I can tell) the actual Brine template.
DebraHartStudio Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 Squarespace needs to be notified at Customer Support by a bunch of us, it seems (one the Squarespace Admins in this thread instructed us to go to: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?_ga=2.77568659.787890910.1594317810-1789806965.1575485542#choose-topic Maybe if everyone does it, they'll fix it! EwaG Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 Has there been any development on this? I am going crazy trying to figure out how to either add a pop up with first name OR an inline form widget, any tips?
brandi_sqspace Posted January 5, 2021 Author Posted January 5, 2021 Hey, everyone! My sincere apologies on not following up until now. I hadn't gotten any notifications that folks had replied. In response to some of the Qs I've seen here: I decided to use Leadpages for my promo pop-ups. They even allow for exit intent pop-ups, which Squarespace also (bafflingly) doesn't do, either. I chose them for a lot of other reasons, too, but happy to answer more questions about them if folks have them. I actually don't know what native template it is (or isn't) built on, but I purchased a build-it-yourself template from Big Cat Creative, so that's why it looks so incredible and beyond what you typically see in native templates. I love both Leadpages and Big Cat so much I became affiliate partners of both of them. So, those links are affiliate links. Use them at your own discretion; I'm not here to sell you. But, again, happy to answer questions AND truly back them both so much that I'd want anyone to know about them. They've both been incredible solutions for my business. (I get site compliments constantly AND my lead pages convert massively—my primary one converts to the tune of 49%). So...please do check them out! tuanphan 1

Rama Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 Hey Brandi, so if I understood well you use both Squarespace and Leadpages for your business? Why don´t you just use Leadpages only? Thank you!

As far as I'm concerned, Leadpages is a lead generation tool, with functionality only for lead/landing pages, pop-ups, etc. Can you use it for your whole website? Sure. But Squarespace is a full-blown CMS, where you can blog, do e-commerce, and all of the other features that come with a CMS, like WordPress or the like. Hope that helps!
Rama Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 Thank you Brandi! Hey, and good luck with you new creative journey! Kisses from Spain!

AndyBee Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 I'm so shocked squarespace still haven't made the feature available to easily add first and last name to a popup for collection. I've found it available to do within a page but not for a popup. Why is this? Surely quite a lot more customers than just here would like this feature?
mcgharios Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 Please add "Name" and "Last Name" ASAP. Not gona use a 3rd party to get this to work. It is not acceptable to keep these fields blank: Thanks! earthwindflowermoon 1
Madison2023 Posted January 17, 2023 Posted January 17, 2023 I'm having issues with this on two websites unfortunately. I did email Squarespace about it just now, so hopefully we can get some movement in this area soon. I know the more people who ask for this feature, the more likely we are to get it!
GoddessPorsche Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 (edited) This simple {Name} feature still has not been added to the form. 😏 I'm very surprised this is not a standard feature. I just canceled my Flodesk... Yikes 😬 Edited March 16, 2023 by GoddessPorsche typo
Ying Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 I have just contacted Squarespace's customer service on this issue as well. It's such an important feature and I don't understand why they don't have it. Email blast would be so awkward without the recipient's name! SeptemberDesign 1
Beth_King Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 Me too, Come on Squarespace, this isn't good enough we need first and surname fields at the very least. SeptemberDesign 1
