Guest Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 What’s up everyone, I was wondering if anyone in the community would know how to implement a “lazy load” or “Ajax load” so that images load when they’re appeared instead of right when the page loads. I think https://grovemade.com looks super cool, I think they’re using JavaScript to load a super small version of their images then adding a CSS blur so the perceived load time is a lot faster. Can this be done with a Squarespace template?
thompsonry Posted May 7, 2021 Posted May 7, 2021 I came here to ask about the same thing. I'm more interested in implementing this sort of thing for faster loading times as I have a lot of GIFs on a site I'm working on. I've come across this plug-in but it's more than I'd want to spend without knowing for sure it would speed things up. https://sqskits.com/plugins/lazy-loading-images-for-squarespace/ Did you end up finding a solution?

I purchased this plugin to help a friend. He has 40-50 galleries with hundreds of images on a page, the site loads very slowly. With the plugin, the speed has improved significantly, but still a bit slow. Email me if you have need any help (free, of course.). Answer within 24 hours.
