Adding embed code to excerpt?

I am creating a site for someone who does podcasting. We need to be able to add their podcast audio to the blog article list page, so the user doesnt have to click into each article to listen to the next episode. Does anyone know of a way I can add audio or an embed code into the excerpt or another way to get audio or embed code to display on the blog list page?

You can add a text link directly in an excerpt and link it to any url on or off site, but that is all. There is no way to add a block directly into an excerpt that I know about. Squrespace suggests using a summary block to list your podcast/blog as opposed to the default blog listing. 

I think we gotta need a plugin to replace the excerpt content to audio player. A link to audio source should be placed and use javascript to handle the conversion,
