Don't leave YET! - Offering a discount for users no to abandon their cart

So I would like to add the option of offering more of a discount to not abandon their cart, is this possible or do I have to integrate something?

Yes I have seen that information, but I was hoping to dig a little deeper and find out what was in those carts and if the person put the items in their cart but didn't sign up for email then how does the cart get emailed to them? or how can i make sure that cart stays there for their return?
