Can I password protect a blog post, or make it private for viewing?

I am a birth photographer and would like to draft a blog post with images for my client to approve before I share it publicly. Is there a way I can create at password-protected blog post, or make it visible by just sending a link (and not available just on my website or by a search)? I realize I could just send her a gallery of the images, but I'd like her to see them in the context of the post so she can see them how the public would. Thanks!!

I am very interested in this feature as well.

You can't password one blog post that is on a page of many. You do have a couple of options, 

1. Create a new blog page, with that one post and password the page. 

2. Create that  post on a regular page, with image gallery and text block and password protect that one page. 

Using either option above put the new page or blog  in the un-linked section of your site. 

Will this feature to password protect a specific post or portfolio item be in squarespace roadmap? Find this important.

So far passwords are site wide or page specific or both at the same time. 

I came here searching for how to add a password to a specific blog post and found this thread. I am also very supportive of this feature — please add to roadmap Squarespace team!

You can't setup password for a blog post. However, if you need to hide a blog from homepage or blog list page, just share site url, we can give some simple code to achieve this.

As mentioned previously by derricksrandomviews one can't password protect a blog post. You can add a password to a Blog page.

You can either password protect your Blog page or move a non-password protected Blog page to a password protected Blog page.

As to the mechanics it goes something like the following.
