Banner/ Thumbnail Image issues

Hey guys, 

So I'm using the AVENUE template. I have an INDEX with multiple GALLERY pages underneath. 

However, I was hoping that the image I use for the THUMBNAIL of the GALLERY wouldn't repeat itself when you click on the GALLERY...

I'm attaching photos for your reference in case my explanation isn't good.

Try using Custom COde to hide it. Can you share link to your site?

Let me get back to you. I'm builidng this as a rough draft. My actual website (also squarespace) is up but its outdated so I did a create temp to work out kinks and bugs before I fully switchover, not sure if I can still link you to it?

Try adding to Home > Design > Custom CSS

.index-page-open .image-list>.image:first-child {
    display: none;
}
