How to: Full-width carousel header with text

Recommended Posts

Been trying to create a header banner on the homepage with a carousel of 3 images with different copy. Preferable the banner image also loops. Been trying to find solution here from previous post but couldn’t find anything. If there are squarespace add ons available, I’d be happy to use that if it’s easier.

People in the community generally need more information to be able to help. A working link to the page on your site is most important.

Here is the link: https://bumblebee-disc-kdlt.squarespace.com/

It’s not public yet so the password is: diveresolute

Right now I’m using Index on the homepage with a full-bleed banner. I wanted to created a carousel out of the banner with a text similar to the one on the site now and have it animate with different images with text. I can use a gallery block but I can’t seem to add a text overlay on the image. Plus, it’s not full-bleed as the banner I’m using right now.

Hope anyone could direct me how to do it since I’ve been searching for solution for two days now.

As this is a Brine-family template, you can create a banner slideshow by adding a Gallery Page as the first page in the index.

When you've added the Gallery Page containing images, open Site Styles and change the default Gallery settings so that it is a slideshow.

Tried it but there is no function to add a text. It only appears as a slideshow of image but no text. Been trying to replicate the modern way of having a carousel of featured photo with text.

When it is a slideshow, you can add the text to each Gallery image so that different text appears on each slide. See: https://recordit.co/sgPc9Z7wfespacer.png

No, any gallery. This just happened to be a gallery of product images.

Found this searching for my problem and it was the only thread that came up.  I've put the Gallery/slideshow in one of my index pages. Had it perfect and how I wanted it. Went on to add additional pages (index) and the original slideshow from the first page showed up there. Clicked on all of my pages and the slideshow was on all of them. When I went to delete them off the page that they were not supposed to be on, it deleted it from the first one that I wanted it on.

So confused. Am I getting a major misunderstanding of Index pages. Had Guide Max spend two hours with me and he demonstrated it originally. And I was just wanting to have unique content on each page.

Regular Gallery/Grid does NOT duplicate...... ????

Hi JM,

I tried replicating the problem you indicated by adding new Index pages. It worked normally, as in it didn’t show up any slideshow on the pages I created except for the usual header, body and footer. Can you check again as I can create a new index page with different content.
