Removing Categories

Hi, wonder if anyone can help. I'm trying to remove categories but after I tick them I need to scroll to get the delete to appear (cat list is too long) and as soon as I click to scroll the ticks disappear/come off and the delete disappears... it's driving me crackers! Is there any other way to delete categories or a way to scroll/delete without clicking on the screen again?

If you click on the word Categories next to the list a pop-up will appear; you can then just click on which category you want to delete, click out of the pop-up and press save. 

Alternatively you can also bulk delete a category if you just want to get rid of it entirely by going into the page settings.
