jkorn
Has anyone been successful in customizing the sort order for search results? I want to return results sorted alphabetically by page title. But Squarespace returns all search results based on "relevance." Unfortunately, relevance is a blunt instrument. For example: We're selling wines. We have 700 different wines. 50 of them are vintage 2010. A customer searching "2010" will get a list of results that are sorted randomly, because the vintage "2010" is listed exactly twice for every wine. Instead, we'd like the results to display alphabetically like this: Amazing Estates Cabernet 2010 750 ml Bob's Vineyards Napa Valley Red 2010 750 ml Carrington Family Merlot 2010 750 ml etc. Has anyone figured a way to achieve this? Thanks in advance! - Jeff Link to comment
paul2009
Unfortunately the search tool in Squarespace is well overdue for an upgrade. You can do little to improve it, even with code. You certainly cannot do what you are asking. You can provide feedback to Squarespace and make a feature request by raising a ticket through Customer Care. In the meantime, the only options are to use third party search solutions. About: SQSP User for 17 yrs. Circle Leader since 2017. I value honesty, transparency, diversity and good design ♥. paul2009
It depends on your requirements. Two very different solutions are Swiftype and Google. Swiftype is one of the best and is reassuringly expensive. Google Custom Search is free but difficult to style. About: SQSP User for 17 yrs. Circle Leader since 2017.
