Navigation Bar Colour Customization

Question

Hi there,

I need some help with CSS code. I have tried to wrap my head around the basics but I am on a tight deadline and was wondering if someone could provide me with the code I need for the customization I want to implement.

Here is a link to my website.

https://octahedron-marigold-74zw.squarespace.com

On my homepage you will see my navigation links are white (due to the dark background). This of course means they must be white on my entire website. I wanted a white background throughout the rest of my website so I had to use a grey header to make the navigation links visible. Please see attached images

What I would like is for my homepage to have white navigation links, but the rest of my website to have black navigation links. Please bare in mind that I am a complete dummy to code. Can someone please explain what I would need to do, and the exact piece of code I would need?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Kind regards,
Chris Spencer.

Hi Chris,

First go to Design > Site Styles.

Under Site Navigation set the Nav Link Color and Nav Button Color to black.

Then open the page list, hover over your homepage and click the 'cogwheel'.

In the window that opens, click on Advanced and inject this code:

<style>
.collection a {
               color: #ffffff !important;
}
</style>

The navigation links should now be white on your homepage only.
